Applying Behaviourism
Before you continue with the final portion of this workshop, take a quick 10-minute “brain break”. Did you know that we can only really focus for (some #) minutes at a time? Perhaps you’ve heard of a study method that adopts this approach, known as the Pomodoro Technique. This technique was actually created by a university student in the late 1980s (https://www.todoist.com/productivity-methods/pomodoro-technique)! There are a variety of time stretches used in this technique, but perhaps the most common is the 50-minutes “on”, 10 minutes “off”. Therefore, as you have been focused for ~45 minutes at this point, take this time to stretch, grab a water, and rest your eyes from staring at a screen. **Will reword
Feel free to start this 10 minute timer below while you take your break, or, if you are feeling focused, continue on with Lesson 3!
Now that you are ready to continue, let’s dive into the final lesson in this workshop. This is where we will take everything you’ve learned so far and create a possible study plan you can use when you start college or university! Find the rubric for the study plan here (link some pdf?) and choose one of the following three ways to present your study plan.
| 1 Use the Study Plan Template | 2 Write an essay | 3 Create a powerpoint |
Take a look at both the Study Plan Template and the rubric to understand the pieces needed for your study plan. This is expected to take you ~ 1 hour to complete, so take your time. If you have any questions, feel free to message us.
Once you have completed your study plan, send it to <example@gmail.com> as an attachment with the subject as <Your Name>: <Name of Workshop> Lesson 3.
Congratulations, you have completed this <name of workshop> Workshop! We hope this has helped you feel a little more prepared for this next part of your journey. If you have any feedback, please let us know by filling out the anonymous form below.
